Bathroom tapware is an integral part of interior design: conceived as a design object, it lends personality to the room and as such needs to be enhanced through every detail.
While until a few years ago 'chrome colour' was the only style for bathroom tapware, today we can choose from an infinite range of colours. The finish is what enhances taps. We make more than forty of them, and our customers are aware of the variety of effects and colours we can achieve.
We offer five categories of finishes to customise taps: some are specific to our lines in brass, others to those in steel. During the consultation process, we will suggest the most suitable finish for each process and give you the opportunity to choose the colour or shade you prefer.
Galvanic treatments involve the electrochemical deposition of a thin layer of metal (or alloy) on the surface of the tap to achieve the desired style effect. Galvanic finishes are long-lasting and evergreen: regardless of trends, they are offered on almost all lines because they are popular with a wide audience. Chrome-plating, bronzing and gold-plating are the best known and can be achieved with either a polished or brushed effect. Chrome, bronze, copper, nickel, aged iron, and burnished, are just a few examples of the galvanic finishes we produce on our taps.
PVD finishes are obtained by applying metallic films to the surfaces of the taps: these are very thin and innovative from both an aesthetic and a technical point of view. Compared to traditional finishes, PVD has superior quality and characteristics that make it long-lasting. PVD:
has a high surface hardness
is non-toxic, hypoallergenic and biocompatible
resists scratching, rubbing and corrosion
can be cleaned with normal household detergents without deteriorating
can be reproduced in a wide range of colours
We suggest PVD finishes to customer wanting to create a range of coloured taps with long-lasting resistance.
Powder coating for taps is a process that protects and colours the metal surface. It can be glossy, semi-glossy, matt, or semi-matt and gives the surface a superior texture compared to traditional finishes. Powder coating has no colour limits: we produce the desired colour to match the RAL or Pantone shade provided by the customer. This makes the highest levels of customisation possible. We suggest the powder coating for taps in modern, minimal, linear bathrooms where the tap becomes a designer object.
Liquid paints give bathrooms an elegant contemporary touch. They meet the needs of innovation- and design-conscious customers: we customise the colours according to market trends and new architectural and furnishing solutions. Taps treated with liquid paints can be single-colour or two-colour. One of the latest trends is to combine a steel or chrome body with a coloured handle. They take longer to process than powder coatings, offer a soft, linear end result and are delicate. We suggest this finish to customers who require a high degree of customisation and a large range of shades.
Many people like their taps to age naturally because it not only emphasises the item in historical contexts or ones with old-world charm, but also fits in with the minimalist modern concepts of new bathroom decor. Polished or brushed brass without protection tends to darken over time, just as if the tap were from the last century. Polished or brushed copper without protection turns green and takes on that aura of antiquity befitting period villas. We call these finishes 'living' because they change over time. Modern production techniques allow the internal structure of the tap to maintain high performance: a change in the colour of the finish does not affect the technical quality of the products.
